If you haven’t experienced BSR yet, you’re probably wondering what happens in a typical consultation. Of course, there’s no such thing as ‘typical’, as stress affects us all differently.
The Process
During your first session, your practitioner takes a detailed case history, asking about any past accidents, illnesses or periods of stress. After the fact-finding, gentle tests are carried out on different parts of your body to identify which muscles and other structures are ‘stressed’.
By observing muscular responses, your practitioner locates stress sites in your body and begins to release the tension by hand using light but precise pressure.
Feedback and advice is always given, and clients are advised to return for two further appointments. If your stress has been stored for a long time, you may need more sessions. But you should certainly start to feel some positive changes after your first few sessions.
Zzzzzz
And finally, you’ll be pleased to know that you remain fully clothed throughout the session (which usually lasts around 45 minutes). The technique is non-invasive and is so gentle that you might even begin to find yourself drifting off. Not a bad way to spend a break from your usual routine!
